This is what Christmas time is looking like at our little household. My husband and I decorated the tree on the first of December. We've been busy around here and somehow we got all the way to the first of the month without a single decoration. My warm-up to Christmas has been a slow one. Years of working in retail will do that to you. Chris, however, loves this season. He loves taunting me about presents., watching all the Christmas movies, again and again, and of course, the Christmas music. It's taken me a while to stop associating Christmas music with all the mall mayhem, however, I've finally been able to get back to remembering what I love about the season. My favourite songs are the classic hymns, the ones that are a little heavy in their meanings - what can I say? I grew up Catholic and there's something about the religious songs that always get me a little.
The last few Christmases have been memorable. Two years ago, there was an engagement ring under the tree. And last year, was our first as a married couple. Always with the same tacky ornaments and the same plastic tree. I kind of like it that. Chris says the tree looks like it's exploded but I really can't help put every ornament on. One year, we will get our act together and buy a real tree, something heavier that the cats can pull down. They've been doing that every year too. It's another little tradition.

Looks great! I STILL don't have any Christmas decor up yet, i don't know why i'm so slow to get into it all this year. Maybe because it crept up so fast!
Thanks for the tweet about my pic :) Maybe next we'll both end up with real trees, lol..
* that was supposed to say "next year", lol...
Christmas never officially starts for me until I hear Nat King Cole's Merry Christmas :) Agreed on the Christmas hymns - there's an emotional pull with them you never get with all the shallow 'bubblier' ones.
