Interior Envy: Jane Cumberbatch

I sat down to work yesterday, when one of my cats - the most poorly-behave one - decided to spill the soup I was eating all across my keyboard. So since that computer is currently resting, I bring you some lovely jealousy-inspiring images of the office of Jane Cumberbatch.
Things of note?
The lovely light, the inspiration board and the LACK OF CATS.

Spotted here.

Good Bye Long Weekend...

... Hello work week.
It has been a very nice couple of days. Well, actually it's been rather interesting. We had a small get-together on Saturday evening - some friends for a warming of the new apartment - it was so good to be chatting until the wee hours. Yesterday, the husband and I drove out of town and ended up on a nature conservation. I fell in love with a horse who fell in love with me because I kept feeding him grass despite all the signs against that sort of behaviour. I was without a camera and regretted, especially since we saw some pretty evil looking hawks!
Today we had the intention of driving out of town again, basking in the weird weather and camera in tow, but our plans were foiled due to car troubles. It's a drag but we didn't let it wreck our nice day.

This lovely card from Rifle and Co. at the National Stationery Show is just what I need to kick off a new week.

Interior Envy - Lizzie Janssen

I have been finding myself hooked to the Design*Sponge archives.
It's a good, quick way to get a dose of design and often the homes featured actually feel "attainable."
You know what I mean? I love elleDecor but some of the houses in there... well, there would have to be lottery winnings involved for me to even live in the bathroom.
Design*Sponge does a great job of featuring real homes
- and great apartments too for us city dwellers.
The above images are from Lizzie Janssen's place in Philadelphia.

My favorite things?
The black walls.
The vintage furniture.
THAT STAIRCASE!

Happy Friday People!

New Magazine?! How Wonderful!

Put anything in magazine form and you've got me hooked. I have, for years, much to the bewilderment of family around me, spent countless hours reading and rereading magazines. It was primarily fashion at first (I was a teenage girl once, you know) but now I'll pick up lots of different kinds. I'm getting into more design magazines and there's one on photography in my purse right now!
I am always super-excited to find a new magazine, and when they're well-done? Well, pffft! That's even better. Please direct your attention now to the lovely images from Anthology magazine from  Anh-Minh Le and Meg Mateo Ilasco. It is a lifestyle, culture and design magazine and their first issue looks wonderful. (You can sneek-peek some more images when you click the title link above).
Thank you Design*Sponge for enabling my habit!

Looks pretty inspiring, eh?

Simple and Unexpected

These are stunning. The colours, the silhouettes, the simplicity...  but perhaps the most interesting fact about these bowls designed by Takumi Shimamura though, is that they are made entirely out of paper! The bowls are made from recycled paper rolls, bound tightly and then treated to be water-restant and durable. I love the bold colour combinations and the texture. They are available from Gretel Home. I think my favourite is the black and white. It's super chic!
